The Experience
Ascend an incredible 114.5m up the Olympic Park's strongest feature, the observation tower which is the UK's tallest sculpture, standing 22m taller than the Statue of Liberty and six times taller than the Angel of the North. The ArcelorMittal Orbit, designed by the world-renowned artist Sir Anish Kapoor and structural engineer Cecil Balmond hosts an upper viewing gallery 80m high and a lower gallery 4m lower where visitors can view an outstanding 20 miles of vast cityscape across London on a clear day!
2,000 tonnes of steel, 19,000 litres of red paint, 250 colour spotlights, 35,000 bolts later and the ArcelorMittal Orbit was the first structure of its height to be built without the use of scaffolding, it is also completely asymmetrical and every line of it is curved. The observation tower boasts some of the most stunning views in London, making it an unbelievable experience with breath taking views of London from the two observation platforms, flip the horizon in Anish Kapoor's famous concave mirrors.
With this experience you will both descend the world's highest and, at 178m, the world's longest tunnel slide, as you travel down the UK's tallest public artwork, you'll both pass through light and dark sections with London's dramatic skyscape whizzing by!
