See five castles in one hour from an open cockpit.
Climb aboard a lightweight microlight and take to the skies for an incredible one-hour flight over Northumberland. This 60-minute microlighting experience begins at Eshott Airfield with a pre-flight briefing and all necessary gear provided, just bring warm shoes and a sense of adventure.
Once you’re airborne, the experience really begins. Your flight path may take you east toward the coast, sweeping past Warkworth Castle, then tracing the shoreline to Dunstanburgh and the impressive Bamburgh Castle. On the return, you’ll head inland over moorland and countryside, passing Chillingham and Alnwick Castles along the way.
With an experienced instructor at the controls, you’ll enjoy smooth flying and expert commentary on the landscapes below. From Iron Age settlements to grand country estates, history surrounds you at every altitude.
Whether you’re marking a special occasion or trying something new, this is an experience that brings a new sense of freedom with every mile.
Vital Information
The maximum weight is 100kg / 15.75 stone.
The minimum age is 14 years. Under 18s must be accompanied to the venue by an adult and must have a disclaimer form signed by a parent or guardian.
The Weather
Microlighting is a weather dependent activity and it is crucial that you call the centre for a weather check before setting out. If your flight is cancelled due to the weather it can be re-booked for an alternative date.
Session Length
Your flight will last for approximately 60 minutes.
Numbers
Your voucher is valid for one person to enjoy a 60 minute microlight experience.
Spectators
Spectators are welcome to come along and watch you take off and land. Please feel free to bring a camera and binoculars.
What To Wear
Most microlights have open cockpits, so please dress warmly. Sunglasses are recommended all year round.
Availability
We recommend booking at least three weeks in advance, even earlier for summer weekends.
