The Experience
Your visit begins in a welcoming London studio where your tutor introduces the tools used in lampworking and explains how the torch works. A short safety briefing helps you feel comfortable working with heated glass before a live demonstration shows how glass rods soften in the flame and can be shaped into delicate forms.
Once you move to your workstation, you begin heating coloured glass rods until the material becomes workable. With guidance from your tutor, you start shaping the molten glass into petals while learning how small changes in heat affect the form of your design. The process is surprisingly calming as the flower slowly takes shape in your hands.
The workshop moves at a relaxed pace so beginners feel comfortable experimenting with colour and design. Your tutor remains nearby throughout the session and offers support whenever needed, helping you refine the shape of your flower while building confidence with the flame.
By the end of the session, you will have created one or more small glass flowers that reflect your own style. Your finished piece is carefully packed so it can travel home safely, leaving you with a handcrafted result and a memorable creative experience.
Your experience includes:
- 1-hour lampworking workshop
