Ruthin Castle was built before 1277 and was for at a time part of the Crown’s Estate until Charles I sold it in 1632.
The castle has a bloody history. The wife of a powerful second in command during Edward I period, murdered her lover with an axe. Sentenced to death for this crime, she was buried outside the castle walls.
Till today, her ghost, the "Grey Lady", walks the battlements and the castle chapel. Other ghosts sighted in the Ruthin are a solider and a little girl.
Only after listening to this ancient tales of this Castel would you understand why this castle attracts so many spirits.
