The Experience
Step into a welcoming London glass studio and experience the craft of lampworking during this one-hour jewellery taster session. The workshop introduces the process of shaping molten glass using a controlled flame, allowing beginners to create their own small piece of wearable jewellery.
Your visit begins with a short safety briefing so you feel comfortable around the torch and studio tools. The tutor demonstrates how glass rods soften when heated and explains how careful rotation allows the material to form smooth shapes.
Once you move to your workstation, you begin heating coloured glass rods in the flame. With guidance from the tutor, you learn how to control the glass as it softens and slowly forms into a finished design. The process is calm and rewarding as the glass gradually transforms into jewellery created by your own hands.
During the workshop you will create one small jewellery piece. Depending on the design you choose, this may be a glass pendant, a decorative bead for a bracelet, or a matching bead pair designed for earrings. Each project introduces core lampworking skills while giving you the freedom to choose colours that suit your style.
When your piece is complete, the glass is cooled safely before being prepared so it can travel home with you.

Important Information
This course runs Monday to Friday, subject to availability. Weekend bookings are available for an additional fee.
Suitable for adults and children aged 12 or over. Any child attending must be accompanied by an adult, who is welcome to observe the session at no extra cost.
No previous experience is needed. The workshop is designed for complete beginners, with instructors providing clear guidance throughout the session so you can learn each step with confidence.
Safety is an important part of the experience. Every session begins with a briefing and live demonstration, while protective equipment and supervised instruction are provided during the workshop.
