The Experience
See Salzburg from a new angle with Tandem Paragliding Salzburg.
The experience begins with a brief take-off run that lifts you into calm air. A skilled pilot handles the wing while you settle into the seat. From this height, the historic centre lies below and the river guides your view. Forested slopes pass beneath you while limestone cliffs rise nearby. On clear days, snow-tipped ridges frame the horizon. The route may reveal The Sound of Music locations. That detail adds a playful nod to film history.
The Classic flight lasts up to 15 minutes and operates in every season. It starts on the mountain and glides down to the landing field. The pace stays smooth so you can absorb the scene.
Services and benefits include:
- Professional, experienced pilots
- Height difference of at least 800 m
- Full safety equipment
- Passenger insurance
- Free reschedule or refund if weather prevents flying

Vital Information
In general, everyone in the age from 6 to 99 years is welcome to fly. Our paragliders allow a weight range from 15 kg to 100 kg for each passenger.
You should be in a certain physical condition and be able to run a few steps to start safely. If you’re not sure, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us, we will be happy to advise.
If you’d like, your flight can be captured with photos and videos. The files are handed over straight after landing, either saved to your smartphone or on an SD card. You’ll have the chance to review them first to make sure you’re happy with the quality. The photo and video package can be arranged directly with your pilot, simply mention it when you meet.
The Weather
Paragliding is dependent on wind and weather, which can be especially unpredictable in the Alps.
Flight availability is usually confirmed the day before, and if conditions are unsuitable, participants are contacted to arrange a new time or date with better weather. To ensure smooth communication, it is important that the phone number and email address provided during booking are correct. Travellers coming from further away may also find it helpful to check in advance about the local weather situation.
Weather apps can provide a general overview, but in alpine regions they are often inaccurate. Local expertise offers the most reliable forecast for safe flying conditions.
Session Length
The overall experience takes around two hours, including preparation, transport and the flight itself. Actual airtime depends on wind and thermal conditions and usually lasts between 10 and 20 minutes.
Numbers
Your voucher is valid for one person. Up to 4 people can book at the same time. You will start either all together or in two rounds one after the other. In the air you are of course alone with your tandem pilot.
Spectators
Your companions can watch you from the take-off or landing site. On the top of the Zwölferhorn you can hike well and the managed alpine hut and restaurant invite you to stop off. It is also the perfect place for a souvenir photo at the start.
What To Wear
Please put on sports shoes with a non-slip profile and durable, warm clothing that is suitable for the weather. We also recommend gloves for flights in autumn and winter.
Availability
Flights operate March to October, subject to weather conditions. Book early to secure your preferred weekday date.
Meeting Point
Address: Gaisberg 32 5026 Salzburg
Please be at the meeting point 10 minutes before the time specified in your booking details. Please do not be late, as we have a tight flight schedule and otherwise the next scheduled guests will have to wait for us, or we may not be able to accommodate later flights and, in the worst case, have to charge a cancellation fee. Conversely, don't be alarmed if the pilots are not yet at the meeting point. We often have to wait at the launch site due to wind and weather conditions and cannot always stick to the schedule exactly.
